Our Mission

To bring about culture change one person, one family and one meal at a time. Culture change only happens on the individual level. Starting with our community, St. Tammany Parish, and partnering with local businesses with similar goals, we hope to create a healthy culture where eating healthy and staying active is easy.

Creating culture change starts at an individual level and grows via community support, thus True Body Kids’ primary objective is to support local farms and businesses who share our same goals to change the culture in St. Tammany Parish.

About Us

Rebecca M. Lee, RDN, LDN became a Registered and Licensed Dietitian/Nutritionist in 2008 and has worked in a variety of healthcare settings including East Jefferson General Hospital and St. Tammany Parish Hospital before opening her own business, parent company True Body Nutrition LLC in March 2016.

Rebecca graduated in 2005 from Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge, LA, with a Bachelor's of Arts in Mass Communication and in 2007 with a Bachelor's of Science in Nutritional Sciences. She completed her dietetic internship at North Oaks Health System in Hammond, LA, and obtained her registration and license as a RDN, LDN in 2008.

Katy Bridges holds a Bachelors of Arts in Dance and a minor in Heath Communication from the University of Houston in Houston, TX. Her husband, a Louisiana native, and their young daughter now reside in Mandeville. With an extensive background performing and coaching dance and gymnastics in Texas, Katy as always held a passion for teaching movement, health, and fitness to children so they may develop excellent coordination, learn efficient movement patterns, gain self confidence, and become knowledgeable learners and health educators themselves. Understanding physical health starts with good nutrition and smart food choices Katy is excited to join Rebecca Lee to influence the next generation of health advocates in her new hometown.

How?

By partnering with local pediatricians, businesses and community organizations we will help create a culture change in South Louisiana starting with our youngest members of society. By improving the food environment of our toddlers and preschoolers, exposing them to nutrient rich foods early in life, and keeping them active throughout their childhood, they will develop life-long eating and exercise behaviors that will continue into adulthood so they can give back and rebuild the following generation.
