Philosophy

True Body Meals is a subsidiary of True Body Nutrition, a local nutrition private practice geared toward providing easy, manageable solutions for weight loss. The goal of True Body Nutrition is to use nutrition as a primary treatment plan for obesity-related co-morbidities such as high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease. By eliminating highly processed foods, and providing clean, organic, local, convenient meal options, anyone can reach their health and wellness goals with the meal program provided.

The Low-Carb line of True Body Meals uses 8 oz of lean meat and 2 cups of non-starchy vegetables per meal and is designed to fit into any healthy diet, including Phase 1 of the Ideal Protein Weight Loss Method and the Paleo Diet.

About Us

In the past, eating locally grown, organic food required you to find, prepare and cook the ingredients. If you were counting calories, you had to figure out the nutrition facts yourself with your best guess. With True Body Meals, we have created a line of pre-prepared meals through the joint collaboration of a Registered Dietitian and Chef, using locally sourced organic ingredients. These meals are designed to fit into meal plans for those trying to lose weight and keep it off and for families trying to raise healthy children.

In addition to supporting the Farm-to-Table initiative, the mission behind any True Body company or subsidiary is to help create a healthy culture change in South Louisiana. Born and raised in New Orleans, a city known for its passion for food, the founder of True Body Nutrition, Rebecca Lee, RDN, LDN, knows what it means to live and work in a food-based culture. Through her years of practicing as a dietitian, she has discovered that traditional approaches to lifestyle changes often fail when faced with an un-supportive community. Thus, the mission behind True Body Nutrition, True Body Meals and the latest addition, True Body Kids, is to help create culture change one person at a time so the changes made are life-long.

The Eat Clean Family line of True Body Meals incorporates vegetables into every bite of traditionally unhealthy comfort foods, hidden from your child's sight.

Each meal serves 4 people, and includes 6 oz of lean meat and 1 cup of low-glycemic index starch per serving with vegetables incorporated into sauces and used in place of other unhealthy ingredients. This line is perfect for getting an entire family on a healthy eating plan or for those interested in maintaining a healthy weight or losing weight in conjunction with a balanced diet and exercise regimen.
